Somerset Life Coaching for youth and children
Somerset Coaching offers support and direction for children, teenagers and their families as they go through life’s tricky changes.
Guidance for children, teens and parents seeking to live curious and ever-evolving lives. Where wonder, accomplishments, mindfulness, self-care and exploration all come together in support of a whole person.
Challenges for youngsters may include new schools, moving homes, divorce, alienation, social distress and the loss of a friend or a loved one.
Life coaching services are offered in the U.S. and UK. Sessions are typically conducted via streaming video, one per week for three to six total sessions tailored to the client’s requirements. Check-ins throughout the year as needed.

The goal is to help young people forge a balanced and purpose-driven life.

- Strengths
- Capabilities

About Somerset Life Coaching
Dr. Katrina Wood formulated Somerset as a way of “giving back.”
The California-based clinical psychologist and certified life coach was raised in the UK and educated at Millfield School in Somerset. Wood is now the president and CEO of Wilshire/Valley Therapy Center in Los Angeles.
“I attended a private boarding school from the ages of 14 to 18,” Wood says. “I experienced first-hand the complex and challenging experiences of being away from home at a young age and the expectations of a high-achieving high school.
Life coaching sessions for the young seek to “course correct or enhance strengths that already exist but may have been misplaced.”
“Someone to help me navigate, to understand where I was at that time of my life — and most of all to embrace who I was.”
Life coaching sessions for the young seek to “course correct or enhance strengths that already exist but may have been misplaced due to issues in life that derailed focus.”
“There are many difference approaches to coping with life skills,” Wood says. “No two people are the same. Each person has a unique path and thus has different requirements for nuanced assistance.”
Today, Wood heads a team of experienced life coaches. “We provide a range of support and clarity depending on what is presented.”
