- Have their personal information remain private, based on our policies and U.S. law.
- Get information that is easy to understand and in a language they know.
- Know the way their health benefits work.
- Know about our company, services and providers.
- Tell us what they think their rights and responsibilities should be.
- Get care when they need it.
- Talk with their providers about treatment options — regardless of cost or benefit coverage.
- Decide with their provider the best plan for care.
- Refuse treatment if they want, as allowed by law.
- Get care without fear or any unnecessary restraint or seclusion.
- Have someone speak for them when they talk with Wilshire/Valley.
- See or change their medical record, as allowed by our policy and the law.
- Expect reasonable adjustments for disabilities as allowed by law.
- Request a second opinion.
- Appeal if they disagree with a decision made by Wilshire/Valley regarding their care.
- Be treated fairly, even if they share criticisms or file an appeal.
